A journey of a thousand miles....

I find great wisdom many different spiritual traditions, but the last week or so a quote from Lao-tzu, the purported writer of the Tao Te Ching, has been cycling through my thoughts, both in my meditations, and normal daily awareness. He says in the Tao:

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" ~Lao-tzu

This is so applicable to many of us who lose ourselves in the big picture or the hugeness of our future objectives, and then we find ourselves too overwhelmed to take the small action steps that ultimately lead us to our goals. In this overwhelmed emotional state, we also lose sight of the importance of the journey. If your goal is to write a book, it seems overwhelming to focus on the entire project, but if you take it a day at a time, and just get started, consistently taking the next logical step, you will have your first book written in no time. But you have to take that first step....

I challenge you today to take that first step. And please try to enjoy the journey along the way :)

~Namaste
